Real Estate Office

The complete renovation of this storefront space into offices
for a division of the Gallery of Homes Realty focuses on a central area designed
to display the owner's collection of craftsman style furniture. This area,
articulated as a “living room,” is defined by four corner columns, a lighting
valance "beam", and a raised ceiling area. This important client meeting space is
given further spatial definition through the use of the contrasting wood trim
and paint scheme, which is intended to create a setting sympathetic to the
style of the furniture. The “living room” is separated from the brokers' work area by a
screen wall which acts as the visual terminus of the office's public area
while permitting open access to the nine built-in work stations located
behind it. A private office, closing
room, and other functional areas are reached through doorways arranged along
the side walls of the “living room”, emphasizing its importance and
reinforcing the symmetry of the plan. |
